October of 2016 marked 10 years since bassike founders Deborah Sams and Mary Lou Ryan first set out to create the perfect range of organic cotton basics. Over the next decade the bassike offering would grow to include refined mainline collections, Japanese-made denim, fine jewellery, as well as bassike mini, and bassike swim lines.

bassike 10 year street posters in Sydney.
To celebrate the 10 year milestone, Deborah & Mary Lou worked with long-time collaborator Beau Grealy to photograph portraits of two modern Australians; Model, Charlee Fraser & Artist, Jonathan Zawada in the label’s longest standing product, the dot t.shirt. The portraits, which became street posters in Sydney, Melbourne New York and Los Angeles, signify longevity and integrity values that have been inherent to the brand since day one.
In addition to this, bassike worked with a series of collaborators to create 10 unique artworks reinterpreting the bassike dot logo. The finished works by Beau Grealy, Carol Crawford, Conor O’Brien, Early Work Studio, Henry Wilson, Jayne Min, Jonathan Zawada, Kelvin Ho, Lisa Havilah and Mark Vassallowere unveiled at an intimate event in Sydney’s Palm Beach and will be displayed in bassike retail stores throughout the month of November.
